1) Overview

This Refund & Returns Policy applies to purchases made through drummedicinewoman.com, including:

  • Physical products (ex: medicine drums, sacred instruments, handmade goods)
  • Custom commissions (made-to-order items)
  • Digital products (if offered)
  • Retreats, workshops, and ceremonial offerings (if offered)

Some items may have special conditions (such as custom-made instruments). Those terms will be clearly stated at checkout or within your invoice/confirmation.

2) Returns Eligibility (Physical Items)

We accept eligible returns under the following conditions:

  • Return Window: Returns must be requested within 14 days of delivery
  • Condition: Item must be unused, undamaged, and in original packaging (if applicable)
  • Proof of Purchase: Order number or email confirmation required

3) Non-Returnable Items

Because much of our work is handmade, ceremonial, and/or custom, the following are not eligible for return:

  • Custom medicine drums or custom instruments
  • Items that have been used, altered, or energetically/physically worn
  • Gift cards (if offered)
  • Digital products (downloads or online content), once accessed or delivered
  • Items marked as “Final Sale”

If an item arrives damaged or defective, you are still protected under our Damaged/Defective policy (see Section 5).

4) Custom Orders (Commissions)

Custom drums and commissioned items are created intentionally and uniquely for you.

Custom Order Deposits

  • A non-refundable deposit may be required to begin your custom drum or instrument.
  • Once crafting has begun, the order is non-refundable.

If We Cannot Complete Your Custom Order

If a custom order cannot be fulfilled due to unforeseen circumstances on our end, any amount paid beyond materials/labor already completed will be refunded fairly and promptly.

5) Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact us within 72 hours of delivery.

  • Description of the issue

If approved, we may offer one of the following:

  • Replacement (if available)
  • Repair (if appropriate)
  • Refund (full or partial depending on circumstances)

Once your return is approved and received/inspected, we will notify you of the outcome.

Refunds are issued back to your original payment method.

7) Return Shipping Costs

Unless the return is due to our error (damaged/defective/incorrect item), the customer is responsible for:

  • Return shipping costs
  • Packaging and safe handling

We recommend using a tracked shipping service and keeping your receipt. We are not responsible for lost returns during shipping.

8) Exchanges

We may offer exchanges on eligible items when possible.

Exchange requests must be submitted within 14 days of delivery, and the item must be unused and in original condition.

9) Cancellations

Physical Products (Non-Custom)

Orders may be canceled within 24 hours, as long as the order has not shipped.

Custom Orders

Custom orders may only be canceled before crafting begins. Once materials are purchased or work begins, the order becomes non-refundable.

10) Shipping Delays + Out-of-Stock Items

We do our best to ship orders within the timeframe listed on the product page or in your order confirmation.

If a shipping timeframe is not stated, U.S. consumer guidance expects shipment within 30 days, unless otherwise communicated.

If we cannot ship within the promised timeframe, we will contact you with updated options, which may include:

  • Accepting a new ship date, or
  • Requesting a refund for the unshipped order

11) Retreats, Workshops, and Ceremonial Offerings (If Offered)

If you purchase a retreat/workshop/session through the website, these terms apply unless a specific event page states different terms:

Cancellations by the Participant

  • More than 14 days before event: refund minus non-refundable processing fees (if applicable)
  • 7–14 days before event: partial refund or credit
  • Less than 7 days: non-refundable (credit may be offered at our discretion)

Cancellations by Drum Medicine Woman

If an event is canceled by us, you will receive:

  • A full refund, or
  • The option to transfer to a future date
